The Hong Kong Association of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS Hong Kong) attended the Asia-Pacific Intelligent Transportation System Board Meeting at the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux today and was notified that ITS Hong Kong has secured the right to host the ITS Asia Pacific Forum in Hong Kong SAR in 2017. ITS Hong Kong submitted its competitive bid in mid October. The ITS Asia Pacific Forum is the largest event on ITS and intelligent mobility held annually in Asia, whenever the ITS World Congress is not hosted in Asia, and focuses on the benefits of implementing ITS and related services.

The 2017 event will emphasize how the use of intelligent transport systems for various applications can ensure that existing (or new) road infrastructure and transport service providers can operate more effectively, provide a valuable contribution to economic competitiveness and to fully support the emergence of smart city policies.

The ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2017 event is expected to attract more than 1200 experts and government officials from around the world to hear about the latest research, best practice and case studies in ITS.
