8th Asia Pacific Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Forum and Exhibition 10-13 July 2006, for Hong Kong- A SUCCESS! | |
As the representative of ITS industry of Hong Kong, ITS Hong Kong has successfully delivered the 8th Asia Pacific Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Forum and Exhibition in Hong Kong on 10-13 July 2006, for Hong Kong. The event has attracted around 320 delegates (around 1/3 from Hong Kong and 2/3 overseas). It is noted that participants are not just from within the Asia Pacific region, but also from other European / North American countries/cities as well. The ITS Asia Pacific organization is also very pleased with the event. Overall, the event has featured a 2-day forum (with 1 Executive Session and 2 Technical Sessions running in parallel), a ˝-day special workshop on business with China on the third day, technical visits on the third day, and also a 4-day free entry exhibition. It is recorded that delegates are from 19 different countries. There are 33 papers presented in the Executive Sessions, 66 papers presented in the Technical Sessions, and also 28 booths participated in the exhibition. There are also a total of 10 local technical visits arranged, which are well attended by around 150 delegates. The event has offered excellent opportunities for delegates and professions to learn and exchange the latest ITS developments and technologies from across the world, and provided strong reference for Hong Kong to establish our own ITS development focus for the future. We have also managed to include newspaper features in the local newspapers (Ming Po and Hong Kong Economic Times) on the opening day (10 July 2006), to attract more public awareness on ITS matters. To follow from the great success of ITS in Hong Kong, we would thus sincerely call upon your continual support to us, to commonly foster ITS development in Hong Kong and provide your key support to this emerging industry in Hong Kong.
